School of Nursing and Midwifery, Nkpor Idemili-North local government area of Anambra State, has sent a message to the State Government to save it from the hands of bandits and hoodlums who regularly break into the School premises to sexually molest and steal fom the students due to the dilapidated condition of the School’s fence.
It was learnt that Students have been going through hell in the hands of these criminals who preyed on the School compound at nights due to the school’s lack of perimeter fences.
The School of Nursing has therefore appealed to the State Governor, Willie Obianor to order the Commisioner of Health, to as a matter of urgency, re-construct the damaged fence of the School and save the students mostly female of more agonies.
The appeal was contained in a motion presented to the Anambra State House of Assembly and sponsored by the lawmaker representing Aguata one state constituency, Hon.Cater Dike Nnamdi Umeh.
Presenting the motion on the plight of School of Nursing and Midwifery Nkpor, the lawmaker explained that “as a matter of urgent public importance, there is a dire need for Governor Willie Obiano to direct the Honourable Commissioner for Health to reconstruct the perimeter fences that fell in the school in order to beef up security within the school environment.”
The lawmaker said that the school was currently a sorry sight because he visited the school and saw the level of ruins in the institution coupled with the many atrocities that have befallen the school due to the dilapidated fences which he believed provided unlimited access for disgruntled elements to subject the school to unnecessary tutelage.
