Iheanacho Rescues Nigeria from defeat against Senegal

The Super Eagles of Nigeria in their first official outing for the year faced off with the Teranga Lions of Senegal. The Super Eagles were in high spirits before the game although without captain Mikel Obi who is in China and first choice goal keeper Carl Ikeme who was sick.

John Ogu made a comeback in the Eagles team when he replaced substantive captain Ogenyi Onazi in the 24th minute following a bad tackle. On the 36th minute mark, the Best chance of the match came but Iheanacho dragged his shot across goal with the first half ending goalless

Sow Moussa gave Senegal a goal lead at the 53rd minute with Kelechi Iheanacho bringing Nigeria level against their West African opponents in the 83rd minute.
