He’s known for his iconic comedic roles in The Mask, The Cable Guy and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
And Jim Carrey, 56, has surprised his fans and viewers after appearing in an explicit sex romp with actress Ginger Gonzaga for his new TV series Kidding.
The Dumb and Dumber star stars as Jeff Piccirillo, who is also known as beloved children’s television presenter Mr. Pickles, but off-screen he is dealing with a personal tragedy and a difficult family life. Hilary Duff stars in new comedy TV series Younger …
In a saucy scene from the new Showtime series, Jim’s character got hot and heavy with Vivian, a cancer patient who he meets when visiting a hospital.
The pair get incredibly steamy under the sheets as Jim’s character’s hair long brown hair fell down over his face.
The Canadian-born actor’s jaw-dropping moment marks his first explicit sex scene on screen for the new comedy drama which follows his struggle with being the face of a multimillion-dollar empire after suffering a family tragedy.
Jim stars alongside Frank Langella, Judy Greer and Catherine Keener in the Jason Bateman produced Showtime series, which aired earlier this month.
Deadline reported, ‘Kidding centers on Jeff, aka Mr. Pickles (Carrey), an icon of children’s television, a beacon of kindness and wisdom to America’s impressionable young minds and the parents who grew up with him – who also anchors a multimillion dollar branding empire.
‘But when this beloved personality’s family – wife, two sons, sister and father – begins to implode, Jeff finds no fairy tale or fable or puppet will guide him through this crisis, which advances faster than his means to cope.’
Meanwhile, Jim recently claimed he came close to calling it quits on his acting and comedy career as a result of his secret struggle with depression and the pressure of fame.
The Bruce Almighty actor told The Herald Sun: ‘Depression is caused by your body and your psyche becoming exhausted with who you are trying to portray in the world.’
Jim explained that he went through a troubling time of his life where he became disinterested and distant from the entertainment industry.
He added: ‘It occurred to me one day, “you’ve been out of the business for five years. You left. The only thing keeping you here is this physical avatar that does this for a living, but you’re not here, this is not who you are”.’
With 35 years as a television and film actor, Jim spoke candidly about fame, describing it as ‘fleeting’.
Pondering the profound thought, he asked: ‘Does anybody know who designed the great pyramid of Giza? No. There you go. Fame is fleeting.’
Jim has starred in comedy blockbusters such as The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, and Bruce Almighty, before winning a Golden Globe for The Truman Show.
However, while the veteran star often is the face of comedy and laughter, Jim has faced plenty of downs throughout his professional and personal life.
His ex-girlfriend and Irish beautician Cathriona White committed suicide in 2016, at her home in Los Angeles, which he described at the time in a statement as a ‘hit with a lightning bolt.’
